Context
Kiba, Tokyo, no longer has any trace of the lumberyard, and is now a residential area.
We built a wooden facade to recall the character of kiba while anchoring the carbon in the city center.
Method
The specifications were designed to be replicable even in urban areas.
The height of the wooden fence was set at 2m or less because of fire prevention districts.
The panels were made in advance, and the entire project could be constructed from within the site.
Lighting
We devised a way to make the narrow exterior feel spacious, we utilized perspective in the planting areas and drew unequal triangles with lighting.
